| The annual Christmas dinner was held on Thursday night at Concord University. This year was a bit somber as we celebrated without one of our own. Charles "Chuck" Marshall passed away during the summer, and was honored, post-humously, as the firefighter of the year. He is also the first recipient of the newly renamed Charles "Chuck" Marshall Firefighter of the Year award. His wife, Brittany, accepted the award on his behalf. The members also presented Brittany with a shadow box that displayed a department patch, his unit number, and his badge and collar brass. "It is never easy to go on without one of your own, but we know Chuck rides with us on every call," said Chief Stanley Harvey. |
