Welcome Parents. Fire prevention is one of the greatest things you can teach your children. Every year over 100,000 fires are started by kids playing with matches, or candles. Most of these fires, the parents reported that they had no idea. Be a big part of your kid's life and ask, check, and re-check to be sure they are being fire safe. 30% of children's deaths are a direct result of accidental fires that they set. We have put together a few safety tips, and ideas that will help you be sure that your home and your kids are fire safe.

E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills In The Home)

If you have a fire at 2:00 a.m. in your home, can you kids find their way out? Do they know where to go? Exit drills in the home is a great tool to teach kids what to do in the unlikely event of a fire. Practice your drill until your kids know it! Remember that most fires happen while you are sleeping so go ahead and have a drill while they are asleep.

Fire Extinguisher Safety and Use

Fire extinguishers have been proven to save lives and property. Homes that have fire extinguishers readily available tend to stop most fires before they grow large enought to cause serious damage. It is important to select the right size and the right type for your home. Not all extinguishers work the same. Read the label before you need it. Check this site out to learn more.
